Dayra for Waste Management and Recycling

Founded Year:

Dayra is a new venture aiming at converting wastes, previously perceived as Egypt's biggest problems, into valuable resources serving as raw materials for numerous productions.

In spite of some sporadic attempts to solve some of the waste problems in Egypt such as collection and management, waste still fills the streets of Egypt and after the January 25th revolution; the problem only seemed to intensify day after day. In this context, Dayra was created in an attempt to curb the harmful effects of waste problems, with a preliminary focus on streamlining wastepaper collection and adding to their value through compression and reselling them to paper factories and collecting and processing water hyacinth in an attempt to counteract its devastating consequences that affect farmers, fisherman and its high intake of Nile water.
